It is funny in this modern technological world that you can collaborate on projects that are very important to you personally and yet never even meet the person—like you wouldn’t know them if they sat next to you at the bar. But you get vibes, I guess, even via the Internet. To be honest, that’s why I decided to do the manufacturing with you. I’m sure they’re good, but it was too big and impersonal and I don’t imagine they ever would have put themselves out the way you have. I’m sure the work is all going to be terrific, but in many ways, I’m a satisfied customer already. Think you’re going about stuff the right way—these days it’s not so often that you can say that. And there’s so little financial reward in making music, you want at least to feel good about how you go about it and who you do it with.

So before I even see anything, thanks to all of you guys for making this whole DIY first record thing very cool.
