The system embraces pre-recorded titles (BD-ROM), discs that you can record yourself (BD-R) and discs you can re-record over and over again (BD-RE).

What about your existing library of DVDs and CDs? The Blu-ray Disc™ system uses the same 12 cm and 8 cm disc sizes to support backward-compatibility with your CDs and DVDs and other optical disc formats.

In the digital world, picture quality depends on bit rates. For example, DVDs can deliver 10 Mbps. HDTV broadcasts can reach 19 Mbps but Blu-ray Disc™ outshines them all with up to 48 Mbps. With up to 7.1 channels of surround sound and options for up to 32 streams of audio, BD is an amazing experience for your ears.

SecuROM™

SecuROM™ provides a high level of protection against illegal casual consumer copying and professional piracy. SecuROM™ customers enjoy the benefits of extended shelf life, while maximizing profits through additional product sales.

SecuROM™ uses an electronic keycode for differentiating an authentic CD-ROM or DVD from a pirated copy. The software will only start if SecuROM™ detects an original disc in the drive.

For added security, SecuROM™ Trigger Functions allow you to place multiple authenticity checks throughout an entire application, making each protection code unique.

key2audioXS™

key2audioXS™ combines user-friendly PC playback in superior sound quality and a clone-proof Multimedia session for CD-Extra and web links. A key2audioXS™ disc contains secure audio data for original sound that is playable on CD/DVD players. It also contains the same music data, playable by PC, accessible only from the original disc.

Music labels can use key2audioXS™ to drive traffic to their web site. It also allows labels to offer value-added features, such as bonus content, artist information or discounted CD sales, exclusively to customers who purchase original discs.

n-CD - Premium Web Content for Optical Media

n-CD - that's a totally new concept combining innovative technology with marketing for discs. With n-CD direct customer feedback, promotions and disc protection are intertwined. How does it work? n-CD connects existing, offline digital media directly with specific websites on the internet. By pairing a secure weblink together with a unique identification number, only "original CDs" are granted access to specific websites and to specific premium content.

For the first time ever the n-CD concept allows adding extra value on top of a conventional optical media. Only this technology guarantees the user the advantage of accessing specific content which is directly linked to a specific original CD or DVD.

n-CD Technology

The base of the solution is an unique identification number, which is printed on each optical disc during the production process. A secure web link directs a user automatically to a specific website, the ID number is verified during an online authentication process

To assure optimum quality, Cravedog manufactures according to the Super Audio CD System Description Specifications and conducts statistical process control and systematic defect sampling throughout the manufacturing process.
