"Wilson has dealt with a lot of stress. For years, he attributed his periodic fainting spells to anxiety and exhaustion.
When the episodes started to occur more frequently over the past year, he started looking into health insurance but was thwarted by high costs and unresponsive insurance companies.
At the end of September 2007, while grabbing a quick bite before a show, he fainted again, this time in public."It's really scary," he says, describing the attacks. "I'll start sweating and then everything starts closing down. When it starts to get bad it¹s like having the worst bed spins ever. I passed out just sitting there talking to this stranger."
This time, paramedics were called.
It turned out that Wilson¹s fainting spells were caused by a congenital heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Usually diagnosed in childhood, the condition produces a rapid heartbeat that can lead to palpitations, lightheadedness, blackouts and, occasionally, death.
The good news is that the condition can be remedied through surgery. The bad news is that it will cost between $15,000 and $20,000 on top of the $9,000 Wilson owes for his recent hospital stay, not to mention the expensive prescriptions that are treating it in the meantime."

JEREMY WILSON BIOGRAPHY
Jeremy Wilson is widely known for his song-writing and as the singer-guitarist for the 80s and 90's rock bands Dharma Bums (Frontier/BMG) and Pilot (Elektra/Mercury/Sony.) Since the young age of 14, Jeremy has been making his way as a recording artist, traveling musician and multimedia producer. He has worked on albums for such varied artists as Pete Townsend, Heatmiser (Elliot Smith), Barret Jones, Rollie Tussing, Kind Of Like Spitting, and most recently, Casey Neill among many others. He has released critically acclaimed albums with his groups Dharma Bums and Pilot including the albums Haywire (1989) Bliss (1990) Welcome (1992) Fork For A Tongue (1994) When The Day Has Broken (1996) Strangers Waltz (1998) and his first solo release, Independence Vol.1: demos and out-takes (2005). He has also recorded two epic albums yet to be released. The infamous Elektra album HISS (1995-96), a big budget affair that was recorded with his band Pilot and produced by multi Grammy winner producer Joe Chicarelli (Elton John, Beck, U2, Melissa Etherirdge, Tori Amos), but the album got lost in the Time Warner/Ted Turner Entertainment merger of the time. And the soon to be released rock opera Honey/Moon/Life self-produced by Jeremy and recorded in 2001 by John Cluff (Thrillbilly, Pacific Wonderland). Besides Joe Chicarelli, Jeremy Wilson has also worked with such famous producers and engineers as Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana, Mudhoney) Conrad Uno (Young Fresh Fellows, Presidents of The United States) Barrett Jones (Foo Fighters, Presidents of The United States, Nirvana, Bush) Drew Canulette (Soundgarden. Black Flag, Nirvana) , Tony Lash (The Dandy Warhols, Elliot Smith, King Black Acid) and Ed Brooks (Pearl Jam, Tuatara. Mark Eitzel). After years of slogging out an existence signed to major labels Elektra and Mercury Records, and publisher Sony in the 90's. Jeremy decided to re-take control of his career in 2000 and got out of his major contracts. Using a name that had been his publishing name for years, and aware of the "Digital Revolution" that was in store for the next decade, in 2000 he started MastanMusic. |
